This is a permanent full-time position.

The QEUH Adult theatre suite consists of modern theatres covering a variety of specialties including General Surgery, Urology, Vascular, Orthopaedics, ENT, Gynaecology, Trauma and Emergencies.  Our theatre suite is looking to recruit an enthusiastic anaesthetic team leader to drive and develop our service, deputizing for the Band 7 Senior charges nurses in their absence. You should be an experienced Perioperative practitioner with at least 3 years’ experience at a Band 5 in anaesthetics and have evidence of leadership experience.  You will be a First Level Registered Nurse trained in general nursing or adult nursing having completed the NES competencies or a Registered Operating Department Practitioner. As part of the multidisciplinary team you will have responsibility for assessment of care needs and the development of programs of care and the implementation and evaluation of these programs ensuring the delivery of high quality care to patients within the perioperative department. The ability to work on your own initiative but also as part of an integrated team is required. You are required to demonstrate flexibility by working within a service that runs over a seven day week.  Furthermore, you will be expected where necessary to engage in multi-site working within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde in order to achieve the needs of the service.  As part of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s pre-employment checking for all appointed candidates, evidence of current NMC registration will be required prior to start date. You should therefore note candidates who are unable to provide confirmation of current NMC registration, in line with projected start date for this post, may not be shortlisted for interview.  This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland Check.
