Job Advert

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a registered nurse to join the Looked after Children & Young People (LACYP) nurse team. You will take a key role in providing care to children and young people in the Tayside area who have varying levels of care experience. Your aim will be to improve health outcomes for this group within a community setting, empowering young people to make safe health choices and maintain their relationships with key health professionals. Your main base is Perth and Kinross but would outreach to bases in Dundee and Angus as appropriate and requires a Tayside wide understanding and approach linking with the 3 Local Authorities across the region.

You will be able to demonstrate a genuine interest in the health and wellbeing of care experienced children and young people, be well organised, have excellent communication skills, an understanding of corporate parenting and be familiar with the role of the LACYP Nursing Team. You will be able to work without direct supervision whilst linking closely with other team members and be committed in delivering safe, effective, person-centred care based on the Getting it Right for Every Child national practice model.

If you have a genuine desire to improve outcomes for care experienced children and young people, are committed to empowering safe health choices in this group and are a good team player with a passion for working with children, young people, and young adults then we would very much like to hear from you.

You must be registered on Sub Part 1 of the NMC register
