This post is an opportunity for a newly qualified or more experienced Band 5 Dietitian wishing to work within Weight Management services.  We are looking for someone with clinical expertise and excellent communication and motivation skills.  

We are a service that works towards the National Standards for Adult Weight Management and are involved in the set up and delivery of the type 2 diabetes prevention, early detection and intervention framework and closely work alongside our colleagues in NHS Fife and NHS Lothian. 

This post is based at Borders General Hospital and will involve delivering clinics at various clinical settings and virtually.  You will work closely with our Band 7 lead dietitian, weight management dietitians, dietetic support workers, clinical psychologist and administrator.   Service delivery will involve face to face and virtual contact in both group and one to one settings.  

The post holder will be supported to complete the Flying Start programme.  Supervision and support will be provided to enable you to play an active part in the department and develop your clinical skills.  You will be joining join a well-respected team of dietitians with a commitment to staff development and clinical excellence.  The department has good IT facilities and utilises online patient management systems.

The Scottish Borders is within commuting distance from Edinburgh.  There will be a blend of working from home, time in the office and at face to face clinics.

You will be required to travel in order to deliver service needs, and a driving licence is essential.  This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post. 

This post is on a fixed term contract until 31/03/2024.
