SNBTS Donor Testing are based at our national center within the Riccarton campus of Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh. a full time fixed term position 18 month duration) has now become available at our testing site at the Jack Copland Centre. This position will provide an exciting and challenging opportunity to support the introduction of a new testing strategy.
Applications are invited for the above posts from suitably motivated individuals to support activity within the testing laboratory. Experience within a laboratory environment would be an advantage but full training will be provided.
The testing department provides an essential service towards the provision of healthcare in Scotland. The department is responsible for testing specialised blood components from tissue, whole blood and apheresis collections.
The new trial testing requirements are likely to identify a significant number of samples to be looked out from both our onsite and offsite archive of specimens for further investigation. This role will include the off-site collection of specimens from our archive therefore a full UK driving license is a requirement.
Further to this specific task the post holder will be a member of the team working within the testing department. As part of that team, they will work to support the daily Biomedical Scientist activity to ensure that service delivery is carried out in a timely and efficient manner and to the highest of quality standards necessary to meet regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a PVG Scheme Disclosure Scotland check.
Any candidate who has lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency
