An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Infection Prevention and Control Nurse to work as a member of the Infection Prevention and Control Team in the delivery of the planned programme for prevention and control of infection across NHS Fife and Care Homes within Fife. The Infection Prevention and Control programme for Care Homes is one that has evolved over the last 12 months, with further development for you in line with strategic drivers.
You will provide specialist knowledge and training in all aspects of Infection Prevention and Control and provide clinical leadership to the Infection Prevention and Control Nurses for Care Homes. You will participate in the operational management of the team, providing clinical supervision, support and development as well as retaining a clinical portfolio. As part of the Senior Infection Prevention and Control Team, you will ensure NHS Fife’s Infection Prevention and Control Annual Work Plan is delivered and provide assurance at a strategic level with an emphasis on prevention and management of healthcare associated infection.
This is an ideal opportunity to work at a senior level within the team and help direct and embed our team vision. You must be an Adult Registered Nurse, with current NMC Registration, be educated to degree or masters level and possess an Infection Prevention and Control Nursing Qualification or currently working towards a post registration qualification in Infection Prevention and Control.

A broad range of clinical experience, including working with older adults is essential along with significant clinical practice as an Infection Prevention and Control Nurse. You will be required to travel between NHS Fife sites and Care Homes within Fife. One of the main qualities for this post is the ability to lead and work as part of a team in a challenging health care setting. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential. You should also be able to demonstrate continuing professional development and evidence of post registration qualification / study. This is a permanent full time post worked Monday to Friday with on-call responsibility.
