We are seeking someone with significant experience in the investigation and prevention of drug related deaths field and drug treatment service planning to take on the role of the Information Manager, National DRD Data co-ordinator.
Drug-Related Deaths (DRDs) in Scotland are at an all-time high. These tragic events have increased the demand for timely and accurate DRD data so that the factors contributing to this increasing trend can be strategically addressed. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join PHS as a National DRD Data Co-ordinator to lead on implementing the SLWG recommendations. This will include leading a multi-disciplinary review of the dataset, working with partners to explore and implement a suitable national IT data collection solution and working to enhance the quality of PHS’s drug death data and the impact of reporting among partners and stakeholders.
A further component of this position will be to work with local data suppliers as part of PHS’s Data Management team, to improve the quality of national drug-related data collections (Drug and Alcohol Information System (DAISy), drug and alcohol treatment waiting times, naloxone, injecting equipment provision) and support new data collection and improvement initiatives.
