Diabetes & Weight Management Team

Are you a good communicator and interested in developing your dietetic skills and experience to support self-management. The Diabetes and Adult Weight Management Team are looking for a number of dietitians to join their dynamic and friendly team in NHS Fife.

Experience of working in a range of different clinical areas, including weight management and diabetes would be beneficial.

Job Purpose:

The Diabetes team provides a clinical dietetic service for people with Type 1, Type 2 and gestational diabetes within the hospitals and the community of Fife. The team works mainly in out-patient clinics, with some group sessions. They work closely with other members of the specialist multi-disciplinary team.

Working Areas/Caseload:

Based in Dunfermline at Lynebank or Cedar House, Kirkcaldy. Travel will be required throughout all areas of Fife.

In addition to a diabetes caseload there are additional opportunities for post holders to provide a service to the multidisciplinary Blood Bourne Virus Team and for general community dietitian referrals.

The Nutrition & Clinical Dietetic Department:
This is a Fife wide service providing Dietetic care to one Acute hospital, Primary Care hospitals and the community. The department is currently arranged into clinical teams for; Acute, Diabetes & Adult Weight Management, Mental Health & Learning Disabilities, Nutritional Support, Older People and Infant Nutrition, Paediatrics & Child Healthy Weight. There is also specialist Dietitians working in the Health Promotion/Dietetics Food & Health Teams.

The Dietetic department takes both undergraduate and graduate Dietetic students for B & C programmes each year; involving staff in the delivery and organisation of the programmes. The department runs regular department training sessions and supports staff in their continuing professional development. The department has good admin support, IT, internet and library facilities.

Registered with HCPC, you will have the skills, competencies and experience appropriate for the post.
