As Respiratory Nurse Specialist, you will be based in Ayrshire Central Hospital covering the GP practices within North Ayrshire. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant contribution to the integration of respiratory care, by working as a member of the multidisciplinary respiratory teams within the Health and Social Care Partnerships and secondary care.
You will provide highly specialized care for respiratory patients/clients with complex respiratory conditions, throughout NHS Ayrshire & Arran.
A large part of your work will involve supporting the practice teams to manage their respiratory patient groups and ensure best prescribing practice.
You will be supporting the development of patient centred and effective processes that will ensure continuous improvement is embedded into clinicians’ everyday practice.
You will work with Primary Care clinicians to enhance the care of patients with respiratory disease by developing, delivering and co-ordinating training and education programmes on complex respiratory care, and providing expert clinical advice to Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) to support the development of accredited courses to ensure staff are competent, confident and fit for practice.
Experience within an appropriate clinical environment is essential together with knowledge and training equivalent to degree level attainments.
You will also demonstrate experience of developing and delivering innovative and creative solutions to underpin service delivery.
This post is for 15 hours per week, however job share would be considered.
