Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS), a Strategic Business Unit (SBU) within the NHS National Services Scotland, plays a vital role not only in the health of the people of Scotland but also on an international scale – through our leading position in manufacturing, product development, biomedical research and donor services. Our goal is to maintain the highest standards to patient care whilst remaining internationally competitive. In support of this, the Strategy & Business Development department, based at the Headquarters of SNBTS, provides a comprehensive range of planning, business development and business support the delivery of the business.
An opportunity has now arisen within the Strategy & Business Development Directorate for a Capital Planning and Programme Manager to join the team. Reporting to the Head of Strategic Planning, Performance and Resilience, the Capital Planning and Programme Manager will plan, manage and deliver the asset investment programme and asset management strategy for SNBTS ensuring internal customer requirements are met, resources are effectively deployed across the organisation and service delivery is high quality, effective, responsive and in support of and fully aligned to service strategy. In addition, this post is responsible for co-ordinating with NSS Facilities Contract Manager, Heath Facilities Scotland on JCC building projects involving external contractors to ensure the appropriate risk assessments and guidance is followed.
To fulfil this challenging and exciting role you will need to be educated to degree level or equivalent with relevant postgraduate qualification or professional accreditation in a business or similar discipline. Candidates should be enthusiastic and motivated individuals with demonstrable experience at a senior managerial level within a medium/large diversified organisation with organisation-wide responsibility preferably within a relevant health service setting with experience in/or knowledge of relevant NHS systems/processes. Project management skills, experience in managing large scale projects/investment programmes and a track record of managing multiple concurrent initiatives will be essential for the successful applicant.
