A rare permanent opportunity to join the growing and forward thinking Tissue Viability Service as a Band 7 Tissue Viability Clinical Nurse Specialist (job share).
15-22.5 hours considered.
NHS Lothian Tissue Viability Service (TVS) encompasses Acute, Primary and Community care. The geographic areas include Edinburgh, East, Mid and West Lothian and has a population of 850,000. Regular meetings support a whole service approach for the TVS.
The post holder (job share) will lead the delivery of the Lothian Tissue Viability service at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
Base: Royal Infirmary Edinburgh with a requirement to support multi care settings across Lothian when needed.

3) Guidelines/Policies/Protocols
4) Equipment and resources
5) Audit/Research
Key Requirements
Qualifications and Training
Essential: Registered Nurse (Adult), educated to Bachelor’s degree in Nursing level with evidence of Tissue Viability and Wound Management experience/skills. Post-registration qualification in TV or Wound Management related subject. Confident IT skills
Desirable: Masters in TV related subject. Independent Nurse Prescriber. Trak trained.
Experience and Knowledge
Essential: Portfolio of TV related experience, experience of directing own workload and managing patient caseload, knowledge of national agenda for TV, Quality Improvement/ Pressure Ulcer prevention work
Desirable: Experience of community and acute working. Paediatric/neonatal experience
Skills and abilities
Essential: Ability to communicate with all levels of staff across multiple disciplines, Skills and ability to identify, support and deliver education to staff at all levels on TV topics
Desirable: Evidence of training in presentation skills. Quality improvement skills.
Specific job requirements:
Essential: Competent in leg ulcer assessment and management including Doppler ABPI, compression therapy and able to supervise staff. Car driver with valid driving license (multi-site & community working)
Desirable: Competent in assessment and application for Negative Pressure Wound Therapy, Larvae/maggot therapy and Sharp debridement
