Health Visitor Children and Families

We are fully committed to the key ambition and aims set out by the Scottish Government to provide children and young people with the best possible start in life.  We have a number of permanent Health Visitor posts throughout Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP), and welcome applications from registered nurses with a Specialist Public Health/Health Visitor qualification.  We welcome both interest in full and part time posts, which are situated across the three localities in Glasgow; South, North West and North East.

Working within the Glasgow City HSCP Health Visiting teams, you will be expected to contribute to working with colleagues both from health and partner organisations to support families. You will be expected to provide the highest quality, needs led, evidence based care within a designated caseload.

Registration requirements:

• • Registered nurse or midwife at degree level or equivalent
  • Post-registration qualification in Health Visiting/Public Health Nursing and be registered on Part 3 of the NMC register

Qualifications & knowledge:

• • Educated to Masters level in a relevant nursing area, or
  • Can demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge gained through, for example, completion of NES modules on Assessment, Leadership, and Critical Thinking.
  • Can provide advice using significant understanding and application of legislation relating to information sharing, data storage and public protection
  • Knowledge of health and social care pathways related to safeguarding, early intervention and protection

The work pattern is Monday – Friday, 8.30am – 4.30pm
