CONSULTANT IN ACUTE PEADIATRICS

£87,534 - £116,313 per annum

We have a busy Paediatrics department and are currently expanding our team. We are currently looking to appoint a suitably qualified Consultant in Acute Paediatrics on a 10 PA basis.
We are looking for individuals who would relish the opportunities and challenges of delivering high quality care across the Highland Region. The post holder will have the opportunity to practise truly holistic General Paediatric Medicine.
The post involves participating in a range of general paediatric outpatient clinics and hot week/On calls responsibilities for the Highland Children’s and Neonatal units.W e have now consolidated our Neonatal on call Rota to have second on call consultant to support the team out of hours. We have a robust middle grade rota and consultants do not provide resident on-call cover.
The establishment currently comprises 12 hospital consultant paediatricians, (6 WTE, 5 part-time 2.9 WTE, 1 combined post 0.9wte) in Hospital and community paediatrics and 5 (3.7 WTE) community consultant paediatricians (the latter do not take part in out of hours work).
As the team continues to expand we will also be seeking consultants with skills in Acute Paediatrics, Neonatology, Cardiology, Respiratory, Rheumatology and Community Paediatric.
Applicants with interest in other subspecialties, including Neonatology, Rheumatology, Cardiology and Respiratory Medicine are encouraged to contact the department as we have flexibility to offer job plans tailored to individual needs and special interests. Further subspecialty training could be available via local and national routes while in job.
Applicants wishing to pursue a hybrid post spanning across acute and community paediatrics would also be welcomed.
