An exciting opportunity has been developed for a Senior Adult Psychotherapist based within Dykebar Hospital, who will have responsibility for the clinical leadership and management of the non-medical component of the Psychotherapy Department. The post holder will support the Joint Community Services Manager in managing the effective deployment of the resources within the team and be involved in supporting management functions.  The Senior Adult Psychotherapist will also actively contribute to multi-disciplinary / agency clinical governance activity, providing agreed-upon pieces of work contingent with the post’s banding, involving their specialist psychotherapy knowledge and skills to support wider service innovation, development and improvement. The post-holder will work autonomously across a wide range of duties including direct clinical care, staff group support, teaching and specialist supervision. This will include assessments and providing specialist psychodynamic formulations, holding a case load, consulting with other staff groups across voluntary and statutory services, and contributing to specialist model-specific training and supervision of Higher and Core trainees in psychiatry, nursing and allied-health professionals.  The post holder must hold a Professional qualification in one of the core mental health professions or other relevant experience, and competence to work in the mental health field in the NHS, and also Post-graduate Qualification in psychodynamic/psychoanalytic psychotherapy with current, or current eligibility for, UKCP/BPC registration (Note candidates must be registered with the UKCP or BPC before starting the post). And hold MBT Training working towards Practitioner Level (as defined by Anna Freud Centre)
