We are looking for an enthusiastic and self motivated  Parkinson's Disease Nurse Specialist for Argyll & Bute HSCP.

This post-holder will provide leadership across the Parkinson's Service, leading the nursing care and management of people with Parkinson’s Disease, working closely with patients, carers and members of the multidisciplinary team. Providing specialist information, advice and onward referral, you will work as an expert link between patients/carers and the multidisciplinary team providing advice on management of  the condition.

You will promote and facilitate the continuing professional development of others by increasing their knowledge and skills relating to management of Parkinson’s, delivering a range of specialist education and training to colleagues across hospital and community settings.   

You will collaborate with members of the multidisciplinary team across primary care, secondary care and third sector agencies to ensure that services for people with Parkinson's are aligned to national and local priorities and deliver key outcomes which improve their health, wellbeing and care experience. The post holder will lead the ongoing development of services which are person centred, focussed on enablement, supporting those with Parkinson's to manage their own condition in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.

It is essential that you are a First Level Registered Nurse who has completed post basic qualifications in Parkinson's Disease and hold a Degree level qualification  You must be able to demonstrate significant post registration experience in  the care and management of people with Parkinson's Disease. In addition, highly developed patient education skills and the ability to manage and prioritise a complex caseload are essential. There is a requirement to be an Independent Nurse Prescriber for this post, or a willingness to undertake this qualification as a priority.
