This post is fixed term for 2 years

We are seeking a dynamic individual to join Glasgow City HSCP’s Health Improvement Team as a Health Improvement Lead (Gambling Harms). This is a new fixed term post which will be hosted within the NW Health Improvement Team.

The post-holder will have responsibility for the development and delivery of a local action plan to embed a whole-system approach to tackling gambling harm in Glasgow This is part of a wider, 3-year pathfinder project, funded by a regulatory settlement authorised by the UK Gambling Commission, to support delivery of the National Strategy to Reduce Gambling Harms in Scotland and the Public Health Priorities.

The post-holder will influence and provide Health Improvement leadership within the city, working in partnership with key public and third sector organisations along with local partners to progress this programme of work.

The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong commitment to improving health, reducing inequalities and delivering better outcomes. Educated to degree level (preferably with a relevant post-graduate qualification), the post holder should have a track record of health improvement/public health experience, partnership working, influencing and negotiation skills and a good understanding of public health priorities and health inequalities. The post holder is expected to fulfil the Standards for Public Health Practice (Health improvement) at an Advanced level.

Hours to be worked within Mon – Fri 9-5 with occasional evening/weekend as required. Days can be negotiated
