This is an exciting opportunity for a nurse to work alongside a team of Clinical Nurse Specialists in the established Ninewells Hospital Palliative Care Team covering Ninewells Hospital and Perth Royal Infirmary.


You will be a Registered Nurse with a degree with evidence of extensive post registration experience.  Experience and evidence of continuing professional development in palliative care is essential.  



The role of the Clinical Nurse Specialist in Palliative Care is to provide expertise and influence patient care by exercising high levels of judgement and decision making to influence clinical care.  The primary function of the Clinical Nurse Specialist is to bring the highest standards of care to patients and their families through a variety of means. This encompasses advancing clinical practice, providing consultation for healthcare professionals, teaching, providing clinical leadership and contributing to research findings.

The post holder will work collaboratively with colleagues across Tayside to enhance the delivery of services; will be responsible for supporting and influencing change, acting as a professional resource as well as providing advice and recommendations for service improvement.
