NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is currently looking for an experienced operational Telecommunications General Manager.  Reporting directly to the Head of IT Operations within the eHealth Directorate, you will manage a team of over 75 staff and be an active member of the Directorate’s extended Senior Management Team.  The post is based at the NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde’s contact centre in Hillington, Glasgow. A separate contact centre operates on the Royal Alexandria Hospital in Paisley covering Clyde and Highland hospital sites. You should be educated to Degree level or equivalent and have experience in a similar position.  You should have in-depth specialist knowledge of both modern and legacy telecoms technologies with extensive experience of operational service delivery and support, strategic service transformation, project planning, staff management and have excellent communications and interpersonal skills.  Specialist knowledge is required in all aspects of technical telephony service delivery and management, particularly in relation to PABX technologies from Avaya & Cisco, PSTN connectivity, dial plans, call routing, contact centre hardware/software, operator services & all aspects of client side telephony technology including Unified Comms. The strategic transformation is to a more TCP/IP data network centric service, so experience of data networking technologies is highly desirable. The Telecoms service has recently moved into the eHealth Directorate and technical organisational redesign is underway to provide a service that minimises service risk & provides an efficient, resilient and sustainable telephony platform.  This post offers you the opportunity to influence the planning and delivery of telecoms services for users within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and to the wider population across the Health Board area. The Hours of this post will be worked Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
