AfC Band 7 (pro rata) plus a High Secure Environmental Allowance of £1,390.20 per annum  and a High Secure Clinical Responsibility Allowance of £3,336.48 per annum

Applications are sought from experienced and motivated nurse practitioners to fill this key position within the Nursing Practice Development team. The post holder will play a lead role in supporting the development, implementation and evaluation of practice development initiatives aimed at enhancing clinical practice within the State Hospital. Through a highly visible presence in the clinical environment you will act as a change agent, providing transformational leadership to support innovations in forensic nursing care. You will lead on specific practice development projects and initiatives to facilitate changes in clinical practice, as required by the profession and the service. You will contribute to setting and monitoring standards for nursing care and will undertake research and clinical audit to evaluate, inform, advance and improve nursing/clinical practice.

Experience

Applicants must be registered on the NMC professional register with a minimum of 5 years post registration experience in a clinical setting, and with a minimum of 3 years in a Band 6 role. You must be highly motivated, with proven ability to meet targets and deadlines, and ability to work collaboratively with others at all levels in the organisation. You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, experience of leading and/or supporting change initiatives within the clinical environment. Good IT literacy and keyboard skills, with experience of Word, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint, are also required.
