*Secondment Opportunity – Existing permanent employees must first discuss this opportunity with their substantive line manager and complete the secondment request form prior to interview. The secondment request form and the associated secondment policy can be found on the HR/Recruitment intranet pages and must be completed and signed by the substantive line manager. The Candidate should then take it with them to interview as confirmation that an agreement has been granted.
Applications are invited from an experienced Counsellor to join the Occupational Health Service. This is a fixed term for 12 months in the first instance as part of a pilot Mental Health and Wellbeing Project, which will inform future Occupational Health Service delivery in NHS Forth Valley.
The Occupational Health Service is based at Forth Valley Royal Hospital Larbert and provides services to around 10,000 clients. You will be expected to deliver an independent and confidential counselling service to employees of NHS Forth Valley, liaising with the Staff Psychologist in providing support for staff experiencing distress.
You should hold a recognised postgraduate diploma in Counselling and be accredited by a national professional body or nearing completion of the accreditation process. You should have at least one years’ post qualification experience working with adults. You should have excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently to manage and organise a busy clinical caseload with a demonstrated commitment to regular supervision and CPD.
The hours of work will be 21 hours per week. Occupational Health is based at Forth Valley Royal Hospital. In addition, the ability for flexibility of working hours is required on an occasional basis, to aid professional development and service needs.
