We are seeking an enthusiastic Medical Information Technician to join  the Pharmacy Team  in  University Hospital Hairmyres .

 A Full Valid UK Driving  Licence Holder would be essential for this position as post holder would be expected to cover some cross site working.

The successful candidate will be required to work 22.5 hours  with an option of additional weekend hours .

NHS Lanarkshire is currently offering an exciting opportunity for a level 2 Pharmacy Technician (band 5) to work within our centralised Medicines Information (MI) service, based within University Hospital Hairmyres.  This would be a job share role to support the development and functioning of the joint MI service for NHS Lanarkshire and NHS Forth Valley by providing an efficient and effective enquiry answering service and therefore supporting the pharmaceutical care of individual patients.

You would be involved with enquiry answering, training of other pharmacy staff e.g. foundation pharmacists and post registration pharmacists, and contribution to provision of proactive information e.g. Medusa Intravenous Drug Monographs.

You will receive individualised training as per UKMi and gain expert knowledge in information retrieval and handling.  Once fully trained would be able to independently answer clinical enquiries. You will be interacting with a variety of healthcare professionals, and as such are expected to have excellent communication skills.
