This post is full time worked over 37.5 hours per week and the post holder will require to demonstrate flexibility within a service that supports 24 hours per day , 7 days per week patient care.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde for an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Charge Nurse to lead and manage the ENT ward within Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. The ward is part of a City Wide service.

The ward is comprised of 2 Treatment Rooms and 26 inpatient beds. The service provides comprehensive in-patient services for elective and unscheduled care and supports patients from Critical Care who no longer require that level of care. The 2 emergency Treatment Rooms provide Consultant Led unscheduled care supported by a Nurse Practitioner.

A minimum of 5 years post-registration experience is required, whilst Band 6 Charge Nurse experience is essential. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and proactive with excellent communication skills. Proven management and leadership skills are also essential.

You will demonstrate the ability to influence and facilitate change to ensure the provision of high quality services. You should be adaptable to change to meet the needs of patients, embracing ideas for service redesign and adapting and incorporating these to enhance access and provision of services and care.

You will lead the team in providing safe and effective treatment of patients through agreed policies, protocols and pathways and ensure staff training and competence.

A nursing degree qualification and NMC registration are both essential requirements.
