A Permanent Senior Addiction Nurse Post and a Fixed Term Senior Addiction Nurse post have become available in South Alcohol & Drug Recovery Service which provides Addiction support to patients with substance misuse problems across the South Sector. Initially the posts will be located in Gorbals Health Centre due to restricted working arrangements in response to Covid-19contingency plans. However, the post holders may be required to locate in another health/ social care building within the sector as per Service Recovery Plan.

The post holder(s) will be responsible for assessment, care planning and delivery of evidence-based treatment interventions to a designated caseload of patients who experience problems with alcohol, opiates, cocaine, benzodiazepines and other substances. Patients may have mental health/ physical comorbidities and may have a range of complex social problems and may be subject to Child Protection and ASP procedures. The post holder will require to liaise with a range of stakeholders across Health and Social care inclusive of Recovery Networks.

The post holder will provide Clinical Supervision to Band 5 Nurses and will assume an active role in the training and support of Student Nurses.

The post holder will have excellent interpersonal skills and will be able to deal with challenging situations.

Experience in the Addictions Field is desirable but not essential.

The post holder will have a positive and realistic approach to Recovery

The post holder will require to be proficient in the use of IT systems for record keeping and service development initiatives.
