You will work autonomously across two main sites at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and Gartnavel General Hospital in Glasgow, supported by a team of four experienced CNSs and other MDT members delivering an exceptional standard of care for patients and their families throughout the lung cancer patient pathway. You will work collaboratively with all members of the extended multidisciplinary team including; respiratory physicians, oncologists and surgical consultants, clinical nurse specialists, specialist palliative care, ward nursing teams referring GPs, as well as research and administrative staff.

The role involves managing and maintaining a caseload of patients with lung cancer, undertaking nurse-led clinics: face to face, telephone and follow-up of patients. A responsibility of the role will be to provide specialist information, support, advice and education to the patient and their family (in-patients and out-patients) from diagnosis and throughout the whole cancer pathway on the treatment/management of their cancer. Supporting the educational needs of staff working in respiratory and oncology departments to ensure your and the team’s expertise has maximum impact is integral to your role.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced Registered Nurses who already possess or are willing to work towards non-medical prescribing.
