Wick Police Custody & FME Service

Clinical Nurse Manager

Band 8A £50,965 - £55,016

37.5 Hours a week, Permanent

NHS Highland seeks a Clinical Nurse Manager to support the continued development of the Custody Healthcare and Forensic Medical Examiner Service in the North area.

This service is responsible for delivering Custody Healthcare in Wick as well as in other locations across North Highland. The successful candidate will be an autonomous practitioner providing custody healthcare and undertaking forensic medical examinations to support the criminal justice process.

It is an exciting time of the service as it continues to develop to meet new legal requirements and service delivery standards.  There is a significant spotlight on the service from Executive Directors internally as well as external partners and Scottish Government.  The Clinical Nurse Manager will have a leadership role across the whole service, working with custody and forensic examination nurses to ensure NHS Highland can deliver the expected standards.

The successful individual will be qualified to ANP level as well as holding (or be working towards) an Advanced Forensic Practitioner qualification.  Experience of lone working, delivering services in custody, and supporting sexual assault examinations will be an advantage.

This is a new role, and the successful candidate will be working in partnership with other agencies to deliver service outcomes. An understanding of the needs of people who use our services is essential.

Travel to sites across Highland will be necessary, as will engagement in regional and national meetings.
