Custody Healthcare & FME Manager

Band 8A £50,965 - £55,016 pro rata

22.5 hours a week, Permanent

NHS Highland seeks a Custody Healthcare and FME Manager to support the continued development of the Custody Healthcare and Forensic Medical Examiner Service.

This service is responsible for delivering Custody Healthcare at multiple police sites across North Highland. The service is also required to undertake forensic examinations to support the criminal justice process.  These mainly occur, for custodies, at police locations and, for people who have experienced rape or sexual assault, on NHS sites. An understanding of the needs of people who use our services is essential.

It is an exciting time of the service as it continues to develop to meet new legal requirements and service delivery standards.  There is a significant spotlight on the service from Executive Directors internally as well as external partners and Scottish Government.  A proven track record of designing and delivering service plans is essential.

This is a new role, and the successful candidate will be working in partnership with other agencies to deliver service outcomes. Experience of Community Planning and/or Public Protection would be an advantage.  The Service Manager will manage a multi-disciplinary team, so excellent relationship building and communication skills are required.

Travel to sites across Highland will be necessary, as will engagement in regional and national meetings.  This is a part time (0.6 WTE), permanent role.
