An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine to join our team of eight intensivists. This post attracts 5 or more PAs of DCC. Additional specialty interests will be accommodated to increase this to a full time post, such as Anaesthesia or Acute Medicine. Depending on the successful candidate, a 6 -12 month locum position may also be an option.
Ninewells intensive care unit (ICU) has fourteen funded beds and approximately 450 admissions each year.
Ninewells has all medical and surgical specialties onsite ensuring we can provide multidisciplinary expert opinions to the benefit of our patients. The unit actively participates in data collection for SICSAG. Our patient outcomes are consistently good and our SMR is below the Scottish average. The Critical Care service also has a strong track record of involvement in quality improvement, research and multinational projects.
Other critical care provision on the Ninewells site includes ten surgical high dependency beds (HDU), six medical HDU beds and four neurosurgical HDU beds. The units are well equipped and supported by an excellent critical care nursing team, pharmacy and allied health professional colleagues.
This post is available on a full time basis although applications from those wishing to work less than full time will be considered.
You must be on the General Medical Council specialist register (or equivalent) and hold a licence to practice.
