Part-time posts for 22.5hrs and 30 hrs available, offered on a fixed contract for 12 months.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new service being established within Prison Health Care. We are seeking to employ 3 Health Improvement Assistant Practitioners as part of a multi-disciplinary team within the prison setting.

You will be expected to operate as part of an extensive multi-disciplinary team, in the role of the Health Improvement Assistant Practitioner to develop and deliver a series of Harm Reduction messages covering Blood Borne Virus, Alcohol and Drugs As part of this we would expect you to establish and maintain strong and effective partnerships with key partner organisations (e.g. ADRS, SDF, voluntary sector and recovery communities) and other Health Improvement staff who can influence and deliver the Health Improvement and Inequalities work streams.

This post is peripatetic across all three prisons in Greater Glasgow & Clyde Health Board Area but you will be based at HMP Barlinnie and expected to move to meet the exigencies of the service. Shortlisted candidates will be expected to attend the prison for a pre interview visit and information session before any formal interview.
