Pharmacist Advanced – Primary Care – 8A

We are looking for enthusiastic experienced, GPhC registered pharmacists to join the growing pharmacy teams in specific cluster/geographical areas within Aberdeenshire H&SCP. These posts will be key to leading the ongoing provision and innovation of the pharmacotherapy service across Aberdeenshire.

The successful candidates will be responsible for coordinating and managing the operational needs of delivering pharmacotherapy and prescribing support service within their specific cluster locations.

This will include leading, developing and supporting the Cluster/Area Pharmacy Teams, comprising of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.

The post holders will work as a pharmacist across GP practice(s) and community hospital(s) in a cluster area covering all aspects of pharmacotherapy to ensure the safe, appropriate and cost-effective use of medicines in line with local and national guidelines.

The ideal candidates will be able to lead and develop the cluster pharmacy teams as well as being able to work well within a team and on their own initiative.

You may already be working within GP practice of have extensive community or hospital pharmacy background and experience.  Good communication, interpersonal and time management skills are essential.  Full driving licence and use of a car is essential.

Applicants are required to have their prescribing qualification along with extensive specialist clinical pharmaceutical knowledge acquired through diploma level training and/or experience. (i.e.  vocation Training Foundation Framework, additional clinical qualification such as diploma in clinical pharmacy, medicines management or equivalent experience.)

Full time preferably however part time may be considered.  Part time generally min 3 days (22.5hours).

Marr and Buchan Posts – posts will have agreed base (main place of work) and will involve remote and onsite working in practices within a cluster/geographical area.

Bases and place of work will be discussed at interview.

  • Marr – Aboyne /Alford/Banchory/Ballater/Braemar/Bydand (Huntly)/Torphins/Strathdon Practices & Aboyne, Jubilee & Glen O Dee Community Hospitals (base options to be considered)
  • Buchan – Peterhead/Central Buchan/Crimond/Cruden & Peterhead Community Hospital (base Peterhead)

Closing date for applications 2 weeks.
