This post offers the opportunity for a Speech & Language Therapist (SLT) to consolidate their learning and gain experience across number of clinical areas within a teaching hospital environment.
The post holder will provide specialist speech and language therapy to patients within Ninewells hospital who have acquired communication and swallowing difficulties. The post will cover a range of acute inpatients including stroke, general medicine, acute MFE and Neurosciences. The successful candidate will provide assessment, rehabilitation and advice to inpatients and their families, working with a range of multi disciplinary teams.
You will join a very supportive team of experienced therapists and work closely with our SLT support workers. Peer support, clinical supervision, appraisal and professional development are embedded in our practice.
The Adult Acquired SLT Service is a Tayside wide service and has regular local and regional meetings. Ninewells Hospital, Dundee is a busy teaching hospital with over 900 beds, serving the population of Tayside and North East Fife.
Dundee, known as the City of Discovery, has a fantastic riverside location featuring the new V&A museum. It has great transport links to the rest of Tayside as well as St Andrews, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen. It is within a 20 mile radius of award winning beaches, hills and countryside
