We are looking to recruit a confident, compassionate and knowledgeable perioperative practitioner with significant theatre experience for a Team Leader post within Inpatient theatre at the RAH. Experience in orthopaedic theatres would be desirable however not essential. Consideration will be given to candidates who can demonstrate significant theatre scrub experience. The unit has 9 operating theatres and an 8 bedded recovery room. There is an expectation that post holder will be in charge out of hours which will include all emergences from the other specialities.
The post holder will be responsible for the daily management of theatre and team ensuring that a high quality of clinical care is delivered to all patients intraoperatively. Using excellent leadership skills and clinical expertise they will provide advice, support, supervision and education to all members of staff working within their team. Significant experience and knowledge of working within a theatre environment in a scrub role is required. You will require to have excellent communication and negotiation skills in order to manage conflicting pressures in a calm and professional manner. You also will be instrumental in assisting the Senior Charge Nurses in taking forward service improvements.
The successful candidate is required to demonstrate flexibility by working within a service which runs over a 7 day week. Furthermore, the successful candidate will be expected where necessary to engage in multi-site working within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde in order to achieve the needs of the service.
