Hours: Full-time; based at Hospice with rotational sessions across two external sites

This is a tremendous opportunity to join an imaginative and committed multidisciplinary specialist palliative care team. The Consultants in Palliative Medicine will be based at the St Margaret of Scotland Hospice (7 sessions) and each post will have a rotational clinical commitment between Clyde (Vale of Leven Hospital – 3 sessions) and South Sector (Queen Elizabeth University Hospital – 3 sessions).
In the Hospice, Consultants in Palliative Medicine, Specialty Doctors, Nurse Consultant, Clinical Nurse Specialists, specialist practitioners from Allied Health Professionals and Specialist Pharmacists combine to provide a comprehensive active rehabilitative palliative care service which will support the development of these new rotational posts.
There is also an existing active programme of undergraduate and postgraduate education in palliative care with the undergraduate education coordinated for the medical students through the University of Glasgow.
The Consultants in Palliative Medicine will be employed by St Margaret of Scotland Hospice and, subject to NHS approval, hold an Honorary Contract with NHSGGC.
Applicants must have full GMC registration and a licence to practice. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or eligibility for specialist registration (CESR) or be within 6 months of confirmed entry on to the GMC register from date of Interview. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
All successful candidates will require to be a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Adults Scheme in relation to Protected Adults.
