We are looking for a confident and organised individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to provide clerical support to the Fife Rheumatic Diseases Unit.
Main duties include answering calls/first point of contact to the department from Patient’s/GP’s, Clinic prep - checking all clinic documentation is available before commencement of the clinic and retrieving/culling of casenotes. Processing referrals/booking appointments/scanning of referrals/ into Trakcare. Previous experience working in a Medical Records/Medical appointments Department would be advantageous.
You should be educated to Standard Grade (or equivalent) level or with relevant experience and have a good standard of English and numeracy. Accuracy, attention to detail and good keyboard and IT skills are essential, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is required. Training in Trakcare will be provided.
Previous clerical experience is essential along with the ability to work as part of a team. Knowledge of a patient administration system would be an advantage. You should also be able to work using your own initiative with minimum supervision. The ability to deal with the public along with an awareness of patient confidentiality and handling of patient information would be preferred. A level of communication skills necessary to perform this role safely and effectively is required, as is the ability to perform under pressure.
In the event of annual leave/sickness leave the staff member may be required to work flexible shifts to ensure the service is covered at all times..
