You will have a senior role in the provision of a highly skilled, professional and efficient cardiac service to all departments within Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Stobhlll Hospitals and to externally sourced patients when required. As a Senior cardiac physiologist who manages one of the cardiac serv1ces as part of a senior team and is also skilled In specialist areas of cardiology ,the post holder will regularly have to prioritise and organise h1s/her workload and allocate and supervise , when required, the work of other staff In order to ensure continuity of service and patient care. Depending on relevant experience of applicant the post holder will be involved with managing a service within the Cardiology Department as part of a senior team of physiologists.Direct reports - the post holder will provide direction and guidance as well as clinical supervision and tutor more junior and senior clinical physiologists Perform Clinical Physiologist led Exercise Tolerance Tests with analysis of Electrocardiogram and Haemodynamic data as an independent practitioner. You will be required to perform echocardiograms unsupervised. If untrained training will be given. This has a high level of autonomy and requires highly developed skills i.e. dexterity , co-ordination and sensory skills to enable the clinical physiologist to obtain a series of images, which form the basis for a report. The post holder also is accountable for developing a clinical report as an independent practitioner. Co-coordinating Physiologist led device follow up clinics as the lead Physiologist Supervision and tra1ning of
Physiologists in this area. Analysis of patient monitoring systems. Perform Tilt Table Testing on patient with medical staff accountable for own professional actions and reports whilst working within Professional Codes of Practice/Guidelines. Policies and procedures. He/she will work autonomously. The post holder will be expected to supervise junior and senior staff. Essential requirements for the post are a Clinical Physiology Degree or equivalent (HBTEC/HNC &
Specialist Courses) and at least four years in service training having gained a complete knowledge of all cardiac procedures, gained minimal ASCST accreditation and accepted onto voluntary reg1ster for RCCP. The shift pattern for this post is either 8.00am - 4.00pm or 9.00am - 5.00pm.
