The Nuclear Medicine department at Gartnavel General Hospital, part of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, are looking for an experienced PET-CT Technologist or Radiographer to lead our large, friendly team in the west end of Glasgow.  You will be responsible for the technical and clinical aspects of the delivery of the PETCT scanning service ensuring that the service operates smoothly and efficiently on a day to day basis. Managing a team of Technologists / Radiographers, imaging assistants and clerical staff you will assist the Technical Services manager and the Head of Nuclear Medicine (NW) to provide a robust, high quality, caring and up-to-date PET-CT scanning service for the West of Scotland.  The PET-CT Centre has two modern PET-CT scanners supported by an on-site cyclotron and currently scans about 5500 patients per year. The service currently runs at capacity and you will be involved in developments to increase our capacity, throughput and the range of scans which we offer. You will be responsible for training staff in PET-CT and for supporting and contributing to the research profile of the department.  Glasgow is a thriving, friendly city. There is always something to do or see here.  You will have an Honours Degree (or equivalent knowledge and experience) in a relevant subject with extensive post qualification experience in Nuclear Medicine including PET. Peer reviewed training in Nuclear Medicine (e.g. IPEM Diploma in Clinical Technology (Nuclear Medicine), MSc/PgDip Nuclear Medicine or equivalent) is required. You should have experience of training in NM techniques and will ideally have some experience of supervising / managing staff.  It is strongly encouraged that you visit the department before interview.
