The Mental Health and Learning Disability (MHLD) Public Empowerment Group (PEG) is delighted to welcome applications for the part time role of Public Empowerment Officer. This unique role offers the successful candidate an exciting opportunity to work with people and communities to place lived experience at the heart of MHLD Services in Grampian.
By using a project coordinator approach, the post holder will work across sectors to facilitate the involvement of people and communities in the planning and delivery of transformational change in MHLD services across Grampian. The post holder will work as part of the NHS Grampian Public Involvement Team, and work closely with the MHLD Programme Team which is part of the Aberdeen Health and Social Care Partnership Strategy and Transformation Team.
The post holder will support co-production between services and people with lived experience. The post holder will also have excellent communication skills and be able to think creatively about new and innovative ways to involve people and communities in the work of the PEG.
The post holder will be able to work in a flexible way to accommodate the p/t hours, on the understanding of being able to coordinate and attend key MHLD PEG meetings.
Candidates should have experience of working in a project team and coordinating the delivery of projects. Experience working in health and/or social care, third sector or in mental health and learning disabilities is desired.
It is anticipated that interviews will take place week commencing 13th June 2022 via Microsoft Teams.
