The job purpose of the Assistant Software Developer is to develop highly complex information systems for Quality Assurance and Improvement including analysis and design, development, test and implementation as directed. The post holder will also provide a specialised source of knowledge and expertise across NHS Lanarkshire in relation to Information Technology and its application.


Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:


• Educated to degree level in an IT related subject or equivalent experience for example significant experience of working in a software development environment using the .Net platform with exposure to the entire development cycle including requirements gathering, design, development, implementation and UAT.


•  Should be committed to continued professional development by having a broad and up to date knowledge of emerging and current IT technologies.


• Previous experience in web and database technologies including ASP, .Net, SQL, JavaScript, Microsoft SQL Server, Business Objects, Visual Studio and Crystal Reports.


•  Have experience in gathering complex data requirements from clients and translating them into simple functional solutions.


•  Have experience in providing detailed professional reports and system documentation for enterprise level IM&T solutions.
