Finance Manager (Ref: 091296)

£40,872 - £47,846 (AfC Band 7)

We are seeking to appoint a full time Finance Manager to lead our team of Management Accountants and deliver a Business Partnering service on behalf of the Finance, Planning & Governance Directorate (FPG). This role reports into the Head of Finance & Procurement.

The Finance Manager will be responsible, for the planning, organising and on-going development of internal financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting for the Executive Team and HIS Board; whist evolving the format, content and efficiency of processes in the production of monthly management accounts across the organisation’s Directorates.

This role will have line management responsibility for five individuals. The successful candidate must have strong experience in managing people, demonstrating leadership attributes, use of performance management tools and engaging and motivating a team.

Accurate, relevant and timely financial reporting and adherence to financial ‘best practice’ with processes and controls at all levels of the organisation, in accordance with International and UK Accounting Standards, Statutory Companies House Regulations and the Scottish Public Sector Finance Manual (FReM), is essential for this role, within a culture of high customer service.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent, hold a professional CCAB recognised accountancy qualification, demonstrate effective communication skills and have experience of managing a staff team and multiple projects. Report writing and presentation skills are also essential for this post, including advanced skills with Microsoft Excel™, Word™ and Power Point™. Prior experience in a Government-funded organisation would be desirable, but is not essential for this position.
