Senior Project Manager - flexible within Highland
Band 7: £40,872 - £47,846
37.5 hours per week – Full Time, Permanent
Are you an ambitious and self-motivated individual who can help deliver key capital and major service redesign projects across NHS Highland?
You will be responsible for the delivery and co-ordination of major capital building projects and associated service redesigns from inception to design, construction, commissioning, handover, and post-project evaluation. Key tasks include:
- People management - task and line-management of Project Managers and Administrators. Management and coordination of technical advisors, external consultants, contractors and design team members, and extensive engagement with wider stakeholder groups including NHS staff, public sector partners and the public.
- Programme management - management of multiple projects and work streams simultaneously, often with complex interdependencies, within agreed time, cost and quality parameters.
- Reporting and business case writing - presentation of project reports to governance groups and production of business cases for submission to NHS Highland and Scottish Government.
- Procurement and Contract management - procurement of external advisors, contractors and design teams.
The successful candidate will have extensive project management experience, with excellent organisational, problem solving and programme management skills. You will be educated to Degree level and hold a recognised project management qualification (e.g. APM, Prince 2) or equivalent experience. You must have the ability to communicate and engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders across health, social care and the community. You will have experience of managing and delivering complex projects with many interdependencies within an NHS and/or construction setting.
Work covers the whole NHS Highland area and there is flexibility on base (currently Assynt House, Inverness) with a home working element likely. Driving licence is essential.
