Project Manager - Band 6
Based - flexible within Highland
Permanent (37.5 hours per week)
Salary Scale £33,072-£40,736
Are you an ambitious and self-motivated individual who can help deliver key capital and major service redesign projects across NHS Highland?
You will be responsible for the delivery and co-ordination of capital building projects and associated service redesigns from inception to design, construction, commissioning, handover, and post-project evaluation. Key tasks include:
- People management - management and co-ordination of project support staff, technical advisors, external consultants, contractors and design team members, and engagement with wider stakeholder groups including NHS staff, public sector partners and the public.
- Programme management - management of multiple projects and work streams simultaneously within agreed time, cost and quality parameters.
- Health & Safety - ensure projects delivered adhere to CDM regulations, NHS guidance and building regulations
- Procurement and Contract management - procurement of external advisors, contractors and design teams, and contract administration
- Design - preparation of project briefing information, review of construction drawings, preparation of drawings (where appropriate)
The successful candidate will have proven project management experience, with excellent organisational and programme management skills. You will be educated to Degree level and ideally hold a recognised project management qualification (e.g. APM, Prince 2) or be prepared to work towards this. You must have the ability to communicate and engage with a wide range of stakeholders across health, social care and the community. You will have experience of managing and delivering multiple projects within an NHS and/or construction setting. Familiarity with construction and design software (e.g. CAD/BIM) is desirable.
Work covers the whole NHS Highland area and there is flexibility on base (currently Assynt House, Inverness) with a home working element. Driving licence is essential.
