This is an exciting opportunity to join the new specialist service for Community Perinatal Mental Health covering the whole of Grampian. This post is part of a substantial programme of service development in the perinatal specialty across Scotland, backed up by a focussed training programme for staff.
The successful candidate will be part of an enthusiastic and supportive multi-disciplinary team comprising colleagues in psychiatry, nursing and midwifery, OT, social work and psychology.
Key duties would include:
- Delivering evidence-based psychological therapy with mums and their partners in the perinatal period.
- Opportunity to participate in postnatal depression group
- Supervision of Doctorate in Clinical Psychology trainees, psychological therapists, and assistant psychologists
- Triage with the team and providing consultation, support and advice to colleagues
- Liaison with wider maternity services including Maternal and Neonatal Psychological Interventions Team and opportunities for teaching other professionals
- Contributing to robust service evaluation and audit
The team has spacious clinic premises with free parking and is well supported by admin and management teams.
We welcome applications from experienced psychologist in this field but as full training will be given we also welcome applicants with no previous experience in this specialist area including those who qualify in 2022, This is an ideal opportunity for those who are keen and interested to develop expertise in perinatal mental health.
