The Diabetes Specialist Nurse (DSN) provides holistic, evidence based care for patients and their carers throughout their adult diabetes journey in an in-patient and out-patient setting. The DSN also provides nursing advice and provides education programmes to a wide range of health and social care professionals and works closely with internal and external agencies to optimise support provision. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team delivering key aspect of the DSN role. Knowledge of diabetes services and experience within appropriate clinical environments is essential for this role.
You should be educated to degree level or have equivalent experience and be able to demonstrate your personal development. This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse who wishes to develop their skills and experience further with appropriate support within a Diabetes Specialist Nurse Service.
Due to the nature of this post, a car driver is essential.

28 hours/week (Mon-Fri) permanent post based at University Hospital Ayr, additionally may also require to work at University Hospital Crosshouse.
