This is an exciting opportunity for a Medical Secretary to enhance their knowledge & skills working alongside the Cancer Services department based in the University Hospital Monklands.

We are seeking a  dedicated and enthusiastic individual to provide a comprehensive administrative support to a team of clinicians, enabling clinicians to operate effectively and efficiently.  Who will work  in accordance with standard operating procedures.

This vacancy is to fill a  permanent, full time -37.5.hour , Band 3 position which has  become available within the department .

The shift pattern  will be Monday to Friday , 9am  - 5pm .


The successful candidate will have achieved a SVQ level 2 qualification (or equivalent experience) plus experience in healthcare administration and in a Secretarial  role.

Have an understanding of medical terminology , to demonstrate a strong competence with relevant IT systems.

Perform strong communication skills with patients, clinicians and colleagues while showing evidence of effective team working and dealing with change .

Have the ability to prioritise  their workload  and achievement of deadlines

Provide excellent organisational  and audio typing ​​​​​​​skills
