NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is Scotland’s largest provider of acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services delivering healthcare to a local population of 1.2 million people in the West of Scotland including providing specialist regional and national services to more than half of Scotland’s population.
Employing around 40,000 dedicated members of staff, our Human Resources and Organisational Development function is a critical support service covering a range of professions from Health and Safety to Recruitment and Board wide Staff Bank services.
This role presents a unique opportunity to lead, through a highly committed senior team, a portfolio of Human Resources transactional services, with a focus on customer experience and operational excellence. You will lead the development of our Attraction and Marketing Strategy as part of our Board Workforce Strategy and drive forward continuous improvement of our responsive, professional and high quality HR services in the areas of Recruitment Service, Workforce Planning & Information, Staff Bank and Interpreting Services.
Operating at significant scale and responsiveness, the performance of these services is critical in meeting our current and future workforce demands. Reporting to and working closely with our Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development you will be required to deliver appropriate strategic change and also be able to lead the delivery of the fast paced operational services by being a visible and collaborative leader.
We are looking for candidates who have a proven track record of delivering customer focused HR services and are able to work in an environment of high performance and output preferably from an organisation of similar scale and complexity, whether within the NHS or wider service orientated organisation in the public or private sector.
You will be a confident and motivated leader educated to masters’ level in a relevant subject.
An essential requirement of the role is membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). In addition a project management qualification is desirable.
