Assistant Psychologist  Adult Mental Health : 37.5 hours/week : Fixed term 23 months
A vacancy has arisen in the Department of Psychological Services and Research for an Assistant Psychologist to work within our Adult Mental Health Psychology specialty.  Applications are invited from an enthusiastic and energetic individual to support Consultants, Clinical Psychologists and Psychological Therapists in providing evidence-based psychological interventions for adults with psychological difficulties in Dumfries and Galloway. The post will primarily involve:

•    Working with individual clinicians assisting in the planning and delivering of interventions designed to promote the psychological wellbeing of people referred to the service assistance in the provision of Group interventions run as part of the AMH Psychology service 
•    Supporting the development of a pilot project for an ‘Early Intervention Psychosis’ service in Dumfries & Galloway and also supporting the work of a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Specialist Psychological Therapist within Midpark Hospital.
•    Assistance with auditing and researching the outcomes of the AMH service

The department has a complement of over 80 staff and offers a supportive environment for assistants and psychological therapists who are looking to initiate or develop their skills and extend their experience and scope of practice in recognised psychological therapies.  There is protected CPD and supervision time.

The Department has Clinical Psychologists and Psychological Therapists in all major specialities and it is a friendly, supportive and lively place to work.  All our staff are co-located in the same building and have close links with other teams in mental health and CAMHS.
