You will provide highly specialist technical and prosthetic work for the multi centre Regional Maxillofacial Prosthetic and Technical service which provides services to Maxillofacial Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Neuro Surgery, Ear Nose and Throat Surgery and Ophthalmic Surgery. You will participate in the provision of a regional ergency on call service 7 days a week 52 weeks a year to all surgical specialties. You will provide support and advice to medical and nursing staff as required, in the practise of maxillofacial prosthetics and technology this will include carrying out invasive procedures in the clinic or operating theatre within specified time limits – i.e. complex sectional impressions, fitting prosthetic abutments to osseointegrated implant fixtures etc. Assess referrals from various dical and surgical disciplines and action as necessary in the best interest of patient care, with regard to clinical need / priority, currently accepted best practise - i.e. a patient with significant physiological and psychological complications, requiring complex Cranio- maxillofacial restoration, may involve referral back / onto a consultant surgeon or specialist prior to pre-prosthetic surgery / treatnt. You will provide one to one patient treatnt for the provision of facial and body prosthetics and participate in out-patients clinics at the Southern General Hospital, Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Glasgow Dental Hospital and Falkirk and District Royal Infirmary. You should have a Degree in Dental Sciences and MSc in Maxillofacial and Craniofacial Technology. The shift pattern for this post is Monday - Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm.
