The Wheelchair Service is based in Aberdeen and looks after the wheelchair and special seating needs of around 8100 adult and pediatric patients in Grampian, Orkney and Shetland. We have a vacancy for an Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist or other AHP with appropriate experience. You should have an interest in wheelchair provision, physical disability and rehabilitation and will be expected to conduct clinical patient assessments, specify and fit wheelchair and seating equipment and to manage the ongoing care of an individual caseload. Candidates will have a degree in an appropriate health discipline and should have relevant experience of working with patients with a physical / neurological / learning impairment. Training will available for the more specialised aspects of the role. The post is primarily based at Woodend Hospital in Aberdeen but may involve attending clinics in the Orkney and Shetland Islands as well as visiting patients in their home or hospital settings across the Grampian area.

The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team comprising Clinical Engineers, Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists and they will be responsible to the Wheelchair Service Manager. This is a busy department and the post holder will face daily challenges in managing a complex caseload within limited resources but they will have friendly support from their colleagues in the clinical, administrative and technical support teams. The Wheelchair Service is part of the Mobility and Rehabilitation Services within the NHS Grampian Specialist Rehabilitation Service.

Candidates should be HCPC registered (or eligible for registration).
