An opportunity has arisen to join the mortuary team in NHS Ayrshire and Arran.
Covering two sites at University Hospital Crosshouse and University Hospital Ayr, duties will include carrying out routine and advanced post mortem procedures, communicating with clinicians, funeral directors, bereaved family, the procurator fiscal service and maintenance of equipment.
You will be expected to hold the RSPH Level 3 diploma in Anatomical Pathology Technology or demonstrable equivalent level of knowledge and expertise.
Also required are good numeracy and literacy skills and excellent knowledge of health and safety.
There may be opportunity for further personal development.
Consideration may also be given to applicants for band 3 Trainee APT position with progression to band 4 on successful completion of Level 3 Diploma. This requires a minimum of 3 Highers at grade C or above or SVQ/HNC level 3 or equivalent qualification.
Due to the nature of this role, a car driver is essential.
Hours: 37.5 per week.
