At Renfrewshire Health & Social Care Partnership (HSCP), we deliver adult social care services and all community health services for adults and children in the Renfrewshire area. The HSCP is an established innovative partnership, between Renfrewshire Council and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Chief Officer who will work closely with the Integration Joint Board (IJB) and the Chief Executives of both Renfrewshire Council and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde to set the future direction for the HSCP. This is both a challenging and exciting time to join us as our new Chief Officer.

We are proud of our reputation for excellence. This is a result of the commitment and passion of our 2,420 health and social care staff employed between Renfrewshire Council and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. With a total budget of around £304.4m you will direct the design and delivery of integrated services to meet the changing needs of our  population, who live in our communities.

At the same time you will be at the forefront of an ambitious agenda to drive change, to be innovative and with a deep commitment to the continuous improvement of our services to deliver safe, high quality and effective health and social care that is sustainable for the future health and wellbeing of our population. You will have a pivotal role ensuring the continued progress towards delivering the priority areas agreed in HSCP’s Strategic Plan for 2022-2025 .

For the successful candidate it’s a critical time as we continue to build our Covid 19 recovery and renewal plans directing the re-mobilisation of health and social care services to refocus our priorities to adapt to the needs of a rapidly changing environment.

As much of the post holder’s role reflects national policy drivers in Scotland for health and social care, this post requires someone with a high level of political awareness and the personal credibility to quickly gain respect and influence with both internal and external stakeholders.

Operating across a complex system the visibility, scale and profile of this opportunity should not be underestimated and therefore requires a high degree of resilience, tactical skills combined with the ability to deal with ambiguity. Inspiring and credible communication and influencing skills are all essential attributes.

The role demands an exceptional track record of driving large scale transformational change programmes along with significant financial and risk management experience preferably from within a large complex NHS or local authority/government organisations. Whilst a track record of success in the management of health services and/or social care services is preferable we are open to applications from other comparable public or private sector organisations.

We look forward to receiving your application.

Applications are encouraged from all sections of the community. A culture of inclusion is promoted across the organisation and we are proud of our diverse workforce.
