We have a number of positions which have become available across NHS Lanarkshire for a Podiatrist to demonstrate a commitment to delivering a high quality person centered care ,maintain and improve their clinical knowledge and skills, working as part of a team within the Podiatry Department .
These opportunities are for permanent Band 5 Podiatrists , to cover various hours across the department .
You will be joining a great team that is passionate and focused on achieving excellence in care delivery for this challenging but rewarding patient group.
The podiatrist will provide a professional podiatric care in a variety of settings as an autonomous practitioner while remaining part of a wider team.
Providing a high level of care both palliative and corrective treatments as part of a care plan whilst liaising or referring to other Health Care Professionals or Agencies as appropriate.
To plan, manage and organise own workload to ensure effective caseload management of a diverse range of patients, mainly within the community setting, ensuring appropriate delegation and on going supervision of previously assessed patients to Podiatry Technicians.
A full valid UK driving Licence holder would be essential for this position.
The successful candidates will apply the following attributes :
- Health and Care Professions Council Registered with a degree/ diploma in Podiatric Medicine
- Local Analgesia Certificate Working knowledge of Policies, Procedures and Protocols relevant to Podiatry in NHS Lanarkshire e.gInfection Control and Health and Safety.
- Keeping abreast of the latest developments within the profession.
- Attend courses and in-service training as required accepting ownership of personal professional development.
- Participate in NHS Lanarkshire induction and NHS Podiatry Induction programme.
- Be able to recognise a clinical emergency and act appropriately i.e faints, fits, anaphylaxis etc.
- Knowledge of drugs and medicaments.
- Good communication skills.
- The ability to work flexibly and respond to changing needs.
- High level of personal and professional motivation.
- The post holder will be required to demonstrate excellent team working skills with the ability to work using own initiative
- Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent time management skills
- Working knowledge of basic information technology
