We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated individual to join the Edinburgh Dental Education Centre (EDEC) Team as part of the Business Support – Shared Services team, as an Administrative Assistant. Based in the Lauriston Buildings, EDEC is the hub office for the national work-stream of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and Quality Improvement.
What you’ll do
The job will require you to work with a team of Dental Education Professionals and Business Support staff, providing administrative support to Core and Specialty Training, NHS Education for Scotland, in the first instance, however business support - shared services will require the post-holder to expand their skills to other work-streams, when required within the Centre.
- You will support the workstream to ensure resources are available on digital platforms for education and training. Support face-to-face and online training events.
- You will maintain department databases and ensure all filing is kept up to date.
- Assist with National recruitment events and preparing paperwork as required.
- You will also be expected to deal with email and telephone queries from a variety of professionals in a courteous and professional manner.
- You will be involved in the day to day running of EDEC including reception, room booking and general enquiries.
- You should have relevant experience in an administrative role and a knowledge of the NHS would be advantageous.
- An effective team player, you will possess excellent organisational, communication and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
